Untouched by Anna Campbell AND Wicked Nights With a Lover by Sophie Jordan

“I am many things,” Lord Sheene said. “Kind is not one of them.”

Beautiful Grace Paget has no reason to doubt these words.  After all, she was kidnapped, spirited away to a remote country manor, and told she is to grant this man his every desire… or lose her life. But Grace is no common trollop. So she risks everything to save her virtue by planning a daring escape, even though she finds herself tempted by this dangerously handsome man. There is something in his eyes that makes her wonder if he is not as cruel as he would have her believe…

Sheene knew nothing of the plan to bring him this woman.  Locked up as a prisoner, called “mad” by all of society, he will do anything to reclaim his life, and Grace’s sensuous beauty has distracted him from his goals. And although he finds her irresistible, he is horrified to hold her against her will. Now, together, they must both revolt against the strange set of circumstances that have forced them together - for only then will Grace truly surrender to him… forever.

This is my first book by Anna Campbell. I had been searching high and low for it for several months and I lucked upon it at a Walden’s store…which sadly enough was having a going out of business sale :o(
I am sooo happy I finally got my grubby paws on this one because it was well worth the wait, in my opinion!! I now want to read her other books and therefore add to my growing to be read pile…yikes I hope it doesn’t topple over and bury me beneath. I can just see me now on that show Hoarders *shivers*.
Michael had been locked away by his greedy uncle due to his alleged mental instability. He lived in a guilded prison without much contact with the human world outside the walls of his prison and especially never had he known female companionship.
Grace had married young and beneath her. She ran from home and into a loveless marriage full of regret and hard work. After nine long years her misery is ended only by the death of her husband. She knows she should feel something more but there were no emotions left to give after her long and heartbreaking marriage.
Man was this a juicy book. I loved the tension between Michael and Grace. I love how they both helped one another in opening up their hearts and lives to each one. It felt real, passionate and endearing.  I was very moved by this book. I was laughing, crying and at times I felt as if my heart had been ripped from my chest after learning of all that Michael had to endure in his life.
This book was fabulous and I highly recommend it!! So if you want to read it for yourself you can just go get your copy here --> Untouched

What should a proper lady do when she believes her days are numbered?
Step One: Take a Lover . . .

After being told she will not survive beyond the year's end, prim and lovely Marguerite Laurent intends to live what remains of her life to the very fullest. Though she may never know love, she will know passion—and she agrees to a whirlwind romance with a former admirer. But hours before embarking upon her grand adventure, Marguerite is abducted—by an unscrupulous rogue who boldly announces his intentions to bed and wed her before the week is out!

Step Two: Live With No Regrets . . .

Ash Courtland pulled himself up from the gutter to become a successful man of business, and now he wants revenge on his one-time partner for betraying him. Still, his enemy's bewitching daughter is most certainly not about to surrender her innocence to the infuriating—if shockingly attractive—cad who took her captive. Yet with no more than a touch, Ash makes her tremble with desire . . . and resisting the heat of his passion could cost Marguerite her last, best chance for ecstasy.

This is another first for me. My first book by Sophie Jordan and yet again with it comes the urge to want to read her backlist…ugh…must go to BLA (book lovers anonymous).
Marguerite is the daughter of a scoundrel and her mother his mistress. She lived shielded in the countryside until her mother’s passing. Her wastrel of a father sends her to a boarding school which was not the best of places. She brings herself up and becomes a sick nurse to the ton. Helping the uppercrust of society and their love ones move to the other side. She soon is given a dire promise that she will not live out the year. She does not want to believe this at first but with the proof stacking up that the seer who foretold this may not be a cook afterall. She does not want to risk her heart to someone who she may have to leave behind in a year’s time.
Ash Courtland was raised in the gutters of St. Giles. He was soon taken under the wing of Jack Hadley (Marguerite’s father) in helping him manage two gaming hells. He then helped Jack procure other endeavors. But with no heir apparent Jack wants his daughters (all three illegitimate) to come back and marry a blue blood and help him finally make his way into London’s finest drawing rooms.  Jack kidnaps Marguerite at first to only marry her so he will not lose his stake in the business but the woman he abducts is the same spitfire who gave him a dressing down in the middle of the street in St. Giles.
HOLY FREAKING WOW was this book good.  The tension in the air between Ash and Marguerite was tangible. I could have read this book in one sitting if 1) I hadn’t been at work and 2) the phones would have stayed quiet, LOL!!
Ash is not your typical historical romance hero he is rough, raw, masculine, sexy oh yeah is he sexy! He is definitely book boyfriend material, LOL!
Marguerite was funny and as Ash said “the most contrary female he had ever met”.
So if you like sexy, dark brooding heroes and the women who tame them then this is definitely a book for you!!! And if you want to check it out for yourself just go here -->Wicked Nights With a Lover (Avon)
