Percy Jackson Books 2-5

OH man am I absentminded or what! I remember posting my review for Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and immediately after that I read Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters but I must be losing my mind because I never posted a review of it. I then finally bought the last three books and just recently read them and then I noticed I hadn't posted reviews of them either. But please excuse my absence of a brain but I just don't think I can go into to great of detail about all of these books now.

Although, I will say this these books are pretty much the bomb. I love them because Rick Riordan does a great job of making it not only a great story and interesting but also fast paced. I never felt like I had to struggle through them in order to get to the end. All of them were hard to put down. One of the main reasons I love these so much is because I've always loved history and been a fan of Greek Mythology and just love books/movies or whatever about them. Also, I'm excited Rick Riordan has a new series coming out and the first book, The Red Pyramid, is already out and this series focuses on Egyptian Mythology and I have always been fascinated with this. I love to watch the History Channel especiallly if there is something on about Egypt. I have to say if I didn't have the skin of a ghost or liked bugs I would have loved to have been an egyptologist.

AND he also has a new Olympus series coming out. It starts with The Heroes of Olympus, Book One: The Lost Hero and it comes out on October 12, 2010...OH YEAH!!

If you are interested in reading these books you can just go here --> Percy Jackson and the Olympians Hardcover Boxed Set (Percy Jackson & the Olympians)  or if you want to check out his new series just go here -->  The Red Pyramid (The Kane Chronicles, Book 1) OR if you want to pre-order his new Olympian Book just go here -->The Heroes of Olympus, Book One: The Lost Hero

Well all in all I loved every single one of these books and therefore I give Books 2-5 the following rating:

UP NEXT: I hope to have my review of Inception posted tomorrow!!!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Here is what Amazon says about the book:

Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. And that's the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect.
Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Well I really wanted to see this movie but I decided to read the book first and see what I thought about it and I must say I was hooked from the very beginning. I do admit that I was a little worried that it would try to be like Harry Potter but I love both of these books individually. I am soo excited to read the rest of the series and I also cannot wait to see the movie.

The characters are wonderful and genuine. What surprised me most was the humor in the books. I honestly and truly was not expecting to be laughing out loud throughout the book but Percy's take the world and the situations he finds himself in is just to funny.

This book is perfect for the younger crowd. Now there are monsters mentioned and everything but it isn't too extreme I don't think.  So now I'm off to read the second book in the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters and will have a review of that later!!

Also if you want to get a copy for yourself just go here ---> The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 1) (not only do you get the book but I get a commission from any book sold through this link so you can help a girl out while getting something awesome to read!!!)
